Also have two in car seats. Got a jeep grand cherokee its not the biggest SUV and doesn't drink the gas that the bigger SUV's do. But as that one person said ya'll all drive cars and as you put it "selfishly ruin" the enviorment. Don't Judge lest you be Judged yourself.

I don't have one,but my friend has one,he is the coach of a
little league team.
What do you suggest he do?,he is very concerned about this.
If he has the parents drive all the kids separately it will put over a
dozen more cars on the road instead of the one SUV.
Is there an electric SUV type van that you know of?

you better watch what you say
who said SUVs are gas guzzler, well yeah if chose those large kinds with big V8 like navagator, expedition and escalade.
sports cars guzzle as much fuel too so as large cars like the dodge charger.
ford escape, saturn VUE, honda crv are also SUV but dont guzzle that much gas.
beside why do you care if these people loves to fill up at the gas station. i mean as long as the SUV is meets the standard emission, let them be.

It probably takes just as much energy to develop, produce, and market a SUV as it does to drive one, so you shouldn't take only the buyer to task--how about the maker, and a government that refuses to place limits? If you build it, people will buy it. If you don't want people to buy it, don't build it.
I'm not defending the buyer. I wouldn't buy a SUV or any car (again), but we need to place the blame where it belongs.

No I have an suv because of the space. I have four kids all of them under 11 and all of them almost 5'5". So they are still growing. A car is inpractible.

I have a 4x4 vehicle, I have horses and often need to park in fields and lug around equipment and foodstuff, and it is essential for that....it's horses for courses! Locally most of the children go to school in hugh vehicles etc, who if they see some horse poop on the road have a hissy fit! I call them the Mothers from Hell, as their driving is as bad as their manners when it comes to observing country life, so not all of us are selfish.

People are sheep. Didn't you know that already? Having a big heavy car gives them the impression of safety in a world perceived as "unsafe." They also like to show off.
