yes.
if you are solving for the angles of triangle make sure the sum of the angles = 180 degrees, if not you've made a mistake.
if solving for the sides of a triangle (call the 3 sides A,B &C) make sure that:
A+B>C
A+C>B
B+C>A
if not, you've made a mistake.
other than these general remarks, it is hard to give you a complete list of things you can do to 'check' an answer as it depends (to some extent) upon the specific problem.

yes. by knowing that you answered the problem in a step by step manner with proving as well that you are doing the right thing through making use of the proven theorem, principles, etc. or by asking an expert on that aspect.
