Steve Irwin died from a stingray wound the other day. I thought he was a great character and a loving husband and father and feel that it was such a waste to take someone who was such a good guy. What does everyone else think?

I Loved Steve Irwin ,And I Did Not Know Him Personally,
He Was A Good Teacher,
Steve Made Knowledge Fun,
I Think It Is Such A Waste Of life,
He Gave So Much, And Had Much, Much, More To Give.
Very Sad.

If you were ever needing to look for good in anyone you just needed to watch his tv shows, steve irwin didn't just educate his viewers in wildlife he brought us joy and laughter at the same time, why oh why is it the good people who are taken well before there time,my thoughts are with his family, steve you will be truly missed, thanks for all the good times. replying to "scottishRevo" you are a disgrace to the human race and am utterly ashamed that you are either scottish or using a scottish title in your name, sadly its people like you who end up living a long life and bringing misery to others and people like steve who was a true family man taken away in there prime of life, R.I.P stevo.

Yes he's a sad loss to the animal and human world because not only did he help to conserve the animals at Astralia zoo, he also educated us all who watched his show or saw him in person and his passing is a loss to the planet.
My thoughts are with his family.

Life is full of surprises, i was surprise to hear it my self, knowing he`s been to the most dangerous creator but he died only on stingrays, but then again, as i`ve mentioned life is full of surprises & death is one amongst it. No one expected it, even Irwin iself. My condolences...

I feel pretty bad. To tell the truth, he is the only international celebrity I have seen at close quarters.

I have happened to be there at his Australia Zoo to watch his corc.show not so while ago.

Personally I think he is one of the 'very few' Australians who represented Australia to the world for 'the right reasons'.

It was a sad and completly shocking occurence. Steve will certainly be missed by his millions of fans. As well his family, coworkers, and best mate Wes.

The animal world has lost one of its greatest warriors for their cause. Most people just recognized him for doing the shockingly dangerous appearing things on t.v. but those who know more about what he was doing understand he was making it much more dramatic so to keep the interests of people. In turn that attention and popularity served to educate millions who normally would not have even given thought about different types of crocodiles, reptiles, or even habitats of parts of the world they had never heard of. And that in turn raised awareness and protection of these animals and habitats he loved so much. I for one since watching for the first time have greatly changed my perception, thoughts, and emotions about creatures I used to know very little about.

How many of us at one time would have reacted negatively and violently towards a snake or other unfamiliar animal in the roadway or in our yard? And how many of us in that situation would now remove it and take it safely to a more natural habitat? I for one am that person now. And I have been since I started watching him on Discovery channel so many years ago. Truly this is a sad tragic event, but yet true to his nature, even by his death people's awareness and knowledge of animals, zoos, and nature have yet again increased. Proof being in the massive increases in web searches on such topics. He has fought to conserve, educate and save our natural world. I for one am better off for being introduced to the man called "Crocodile Hunter" and even more for the man his children just called "dad". It has been a sad week for those of us who truly believe in his cause and in the importance of saving our natural world.
