Of course it doesn't matter. I'm not marrying a class, I'm marrying a person for who they are to me. Haven't you heard the old saying, "love is blind".

This depends on what part of the world you live in. If you live in the west (Europe/North America) class is practically meaningless these days. Princes can (and do) marry "commoners" these days. Some very well-to-do families still seem to practice class descrimination but it's practically a thing of the past.

However if you're in India, or other Asian countries, class still has a lot of meaning and there is rarely marriage across classes and lots of class descrimination that still happens.

As for myself personally - I feel marriage is an antiquated ritual. If the guy I want as a life partner wants to marry, ok fine .. but I'm really not even interested in getting married so class does not affect my dating choices.

It used to make a massive difference, people were rarely able to marry 'up' and nobody really wanted to marry 'down'.

These days social class is often determined by wealth rather than family history or 'breeding', so the fences are moved. However, more people would prefer to marry someone of a higher 'class' than someone 'lower'.

What the fvck is Social Class?

Politicians DID indeed brainwashed you all. Anyone can make good money, depending on how hard you work and where you work. You can make today the same money a lawyer makes for working a minimum wage, just do all the over times you can.

It's not that big of a deal. My boyfriend is a higher class than me and it would be nice to marry "up" so to speak. But, I'm not dating him because of his class, it's just a nice bonus.
