Almost any classic will challenge your mind more recent books are " The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress" by Robert A. Heinlein" and "Free Lunch" by Spider Robinson.
The first is a great book about revolution and will give revolutionaries envy, that he thought the United States was the best of what is, because he could have , and does revolutionize revolution.
Free Lunch is a good fast, feel good story, that mentions many other good books worth reading.

The Count Of Monte Cristo by French author Alexandre Dumas

The book is awesome. I can assure you 100% that it is a great book.

Although it is a lengthy book of 1273 pages, you will definitely enjoy reading it if your english is good.

I can recommend you another by the same author - The Three Muskateers.

"The Giver" by lowis lowry. It's such a cool story, and concept. It's amazing. Plus it's a small novel, for a quick read. you'll never forge this book. Or, if you're into coffee talk, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coehlo is a very good book. it's simple, but with much symbolism.
