Was George Reeves (original Superman) murdered or suicide?

He was found dead in his bedroom with a gunshot wound in his head.His death was concluded as a suicide however there is controversy over such death.With suicide as the official verdict, much speculation resulted as to whether it was because of Reeves' "failed career". It was also noted that he had suffered a concussion in an auto accident shortly before his death, leading some to suspect that his mental health had been compromised.
Many problems still persist with the suicide theory, such as bullet holes found in the bedroom walls and throughout the living room (where the guests were), bullet casing found underneath Reeves' body, the gun left between his legs, police not being called for 30-45 minutes after the death and the fact that almost no one who knew Reeves can quite bring themselves to believe that he killed himself.
His disbelieving mother employed Private Investigator Jerry Geisler to conduct an investigation of his own, thereby postponing the cremation of the body for 3 years. However, both Geisler and Reeves' mother died before any substantial new evidence could be discovered. Apparently the truth on his death will then just remain a controversial issue.

Newspapers stated back then that he had committed suicide. But there was alot of talk about a mafia murder because of a girlfriend. It was under investigation for as long as I can remember. I wonder if the movie will tell what really happened.
Just like with Marilyn Monroe, people still believe she was murdered.

Good question. Court tv recently reported on the situation and had experts re-research it from a modern day perspective. They ruled it to be a suicide BUT there were some unexplained things that keep suspisions going.

the original Superman was Christopher Reeves & he was paralized in a horse riding accident & then died later in life
