personally, i like norton better, because it catches more things than mcafee did. my brother has mcafee and his computer just got a virus and mcafee hasn't found it. so i would definatly reccomend norton if you want reccomendations.

Don't use Mcafee. They let that many virus's into my computer that i had to get a new motherboard. It couldn't just be wiped or cleaned or whatever they do. I haven't used Norton before but the lady that fixed my PC put a free anti virus on it that i have to update every 2 weeks. It's called AVG Free. It gives you free reminders just before it runs out. Definitely recommend that one.

Norton and Macafee are resource hogs. Meaning the take up much of your memory making your CPU work harder. My advice is AVG Free edition. It is free and it catches just as much if not more. I had a Trojan that installed 87 corrupt files on my computer. I tried Norton and Sophos and neither one could remove it. I download AVG and it safely removed them all.

There difference is in name only. Both work the same way....an anti-dote for the virus software.
