There seems to be more gay/bi people today because in general, it is more acceptable to come out today that it was years ago. In my high school, I can remember one fellow who was openly gay -- and that was a really unusual person to come out at that time. Overall, for any one (especially a man) to come out in high school would have been akin to social suicide. People knew they had urges towards the same sex at that time but they kept these feelings to themselves, and usually did not even confide such feelings to their closest friends.
After several years, we are all pretty much surprised at who is not straight from our school days. Usually around the mid-twenties or late-twenties, these truths start to come out, and by the forties or so, it either is blantantly obvious or the person comes right out and tells you. The signs? Unexplained divorces, people who are never married, people who are not actively dating, an overall "hiding" behavior and self-isolation.
When someone from your past (whom you've always assumed was straight) tells you he or she is homosexual, bi, or "experimenting" it is a shock at first, but then you think back and realize there were signs that you just plain ignored.
People today are much more open about such things, at an earlier age. Still, when it is bisexuality someone is dealing with, that is still something that people tend to keep to themselves, especially men. And as one ages too, you grow in wisdom and are more accepting of your own and others sexual orientation, and you realize the world is not just full of straight people.

I think it's just easier for people to come out now, so it seems like there are more. To come out 30 or more years ago, you had to have a lot of guts and it often meant losing the people you loved most: your family.
Now it's easier. Family's are more accepting. There are gay affirming churches, gay TV shows & characters, famous people who are openly gay, and more support groups.

Generation of Gays started way, way, way back to the the time of Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great. Of course, they were not that opened compare to this generation. Time changed but Gay have been there after Adam and Eve were created and it becomes Adam and Adam,Eve and Eve,fortunately indeed.

because of the fact that there is no genetic marker for race - the markers are for melanin manufacturing and fairly many times the markers are tied to different traits. this is properly a notably exciting and sophisticated question/answer. at last, that trait won't dominate yet generations later, 2 human beings might have little ones who've matching recessive traits that ought to hold it back out. the least complicated thank you to be certain it is to ascertain eye coloration because of the fact the dominant/recessives are lots much less stressful to foretell

Yes and no. The ratio has remained the same but being open about your sexuality wasn't accepted so many stayed hidden. The population overall has increased so the actual numbers of Homosexuals would have increased as well.

gays have always been around. Most of the gays of past generations have married women, had children and lived a lie of a life. Having gay flings on business or out of town trips.Motels accross town etc. now it is more accept and open, less sneaking around.

Yes I believe you're right about gays being more accepted nowadays. Let's face it, there aren't going to be many 60 year olds coming out are there?

I don't think there were more in the past, they just weren't as accepted back then. My uncle is in his mid 50's, gay and he knew plenty of other people that were back in the day.
