I heard this record in about 1978, but don't know how old it was at that time. This was reminiscent of Monty Python, but I don't remember a British accent. The name of the artist maybe had the name 'players' or 'theater' in it. This was mostly done in the style of an audio play.

IT'S radio station KCEG The Eagle 96.9 host Bob Keller's theme song for his lunch time, "Cafe Rock" lunch time radio program...

I always figured it was Monty Python but maybe not?
