maori used water for drinking cooking cleaning, they also used it for cleansing, after funerals or visiting cemeteries, maori people will normally wash their hands to cleanse themselves. is that what you are meaning?

They used it to drown people who asked really dumb questions and had a an extremely limited grasp of the english language. My advice to you would be do not visit NZ.
