What do people do when they do not understand them or can not be like them nor stop them from doing what they do? they attack, and try to diminish that person or people. Same as the current administration coming up with Islamic fascist, Suicide Jihadist, yak yak yak. Because they are frustrated they have not beaten them with their superior might so they have to try to make them more villainous because that is all they have. In other ways, people say unflattering things about the super rich or those who win lottos of T-Rex proportions. Why? If they had the chance to have that money, they'd take it. But why say insulting things about them? Because they(the rich)have it, and those others(the poor)know they most likely never will have it. And some 280lb porked out couch potato will tell you put on some clothes, or that your pics are skanky because you have the attention in the positive and they would only get gawks as how they can even get INTO those jeans. There will always be detractors because some just can not accept where they are and feel they have to put someone behind them so they do not have to face it.
