In my opinion to give an initial break through to uplift the socially backward community of India, reservation in higher education is justified. But, there should be break even point at two stages:

(i) at the time of intake so far as the intelligentsia is concerned i,e it should not be done at the cost of Intelligent Quotient of the country as a whole and

(ii) for how long period the reservation will apply to bring the particular community at par with the main stream of the society.

For the first point a cumulative grade point system (A+B = C+D) may be adopted just like in I I T's and other institutions who adopt while awarding the degree.

The second factor can be taken care off on the basis of the target of the percentage beneficiaries to be achieved vis a vis the main stream.

At the time of independence reservation policy for SC's and ST's were kept for 10 years and since then it is being continued on political grounds. At least the Govt. can reduce the percentage quota fixed for them.

What constitution you are talking about? for whom is this constitution? People in politics are misusing the constitution for their vested interests and vote bank policy. As majority of the todays youth force is divided into sleeper cells and most of them are in a slumber with government added boose and sex, the politicians have a hey time in looting the country and its people, whom they have made pigs and dogs!
