The link is to a site that has a 6 string guitar chord example. In tabliture, each line is for a string on the guitar, like in the picture. The frets are numbered starting at 1 just below the nut. The number tells you which fret you should place your finger and the the line tells you which string. If it is 0 on a line then it is and open note and you just hit the string. If you are really new playing the guitar, then you need to remember to press the string down in between the frets and not on the frets themselves.

TAB or tablature is a method of writing down music played on guitar or bass. Instead of using symbols like in standard musical notation, it uses ordinary ASCII characters and numbers, making it ideal for places like the internet where anybody with any computer can link up, copy a TAB file, and read it.

if it's going from side to side then the numbers indicate frets and where they are (above or below each other) determines which string it is. it's hard to explain i guess but go to this site and it'll explain everything. good luck.

if you have 6 lines the top line is the bottom string on a guitar the numbers are the spaces you know the little squares on the guitar and they count from the base of the guitar to the skinny end (neck) for example ------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
--------------------------
--------------------------
-------------------------
the bottom line is the top string the 2nd from bottom line is the 2nd from top string etc its really simple once you know how to read it
