Well, first of all you have to make sure you have Yahoo Instant Messenger installed to be able to use it...
Then you create a list of buddies when you know their screen names and you ask them if you can add them to your IM list...
If they say yes, you are in business...
Then it is only a matter of time when you have your messenger installed to find them online at the same time as you...
When that happens, you can send messages back and forth to each other...
You type in what you want to say to them and then click on send message...
It is very easy...
You can also send messages offline so they can read it when they do come online...
It will be there waiting for them when they open their messenger...
Just make sure you are hooked up to your messenger service and you have some buddies on your list so you will be able to see them when they get online...
Then you can chat away...
Very simple...
But a word of warning to you...
You claim to be a young kid, so I would advise you to be careful with who you talk to and who you give information to...
Too many people will lie just to get to know you...
You need to be so careful about what you tell folks...
My 18 year old daughter ran away from home 5 years ago to be with a man who promised her a car, a business, a home and lots of money...
She ran away from me and my husband, got pregnant, and got stuck in a relationship with him, only to find out he lied...
He had no home, only an apartment...
He had no money, he was just divorced and had to pay for the ex wife and kid he already had, and he had an old junker car about to break down...
This is the "great" life my daughter got herself into because he lied...
I have been sick over it for 5 years now...
This is a perfect example of why you have to be so careful...

Get your friends id. Add it to your buddy list. Then chat. Easy as that.
