Ummm....women have been having babies for thousands of years. Do you think that they always got maternity leave? No! Women all over the world work in the fields until they give birth, then they go back out there and work. So, walking isn't going to kill you. In fact, my mom's obgyn said bike riding is okay too! As long as your doctor doesn't say that you're "high risk" and need bed rest, get your butt out there!

It depends on what you were used to before you were pregnant. I read concerning excercise that if you did it before you were pregnant, it is okay to continue while pregnant, but not to start something you weren't doing before. I imagine though if you are feeling tired or out of breath and struggling with it, you should decrease what you are doing. Also, I would say that towards the end of pregnancy, you shouldn't walk to far alone. What if you go into labour?

I would say it is fine as it will be keeping you healthy and the more healthy you are the more healthy the baby will be. as more the comment of peopple being on the tread mill I would not suggest that as I'm sure the baby will be unconfortable and could harm the baby just like if you were hit in the stomach could cause brain damage to the un born but just casual walking I'm sure is fine, just keep your water intake high so you don't get dehydrated and make sure you have plenty of nutrishes food that can keep up with your body providing for the unborn.

If you exercised before pregnancy you can continue to do so while pregnant. I did kick boxing aerobics when pregnant with my 2nd. I just had to modify it a bit as I got bigger. If you didn't exercise much before then I would ask your doctor. But I don't think walking would be a big issue--even a long walk. It will do you good and keep your body in shape for the birth.

For some people it is okay and for others it's not. Like my sister, she couldn't walk too much because it put a lot of strain on her, which could result in early/difficult birth. So I suggest you talk to your doctor, though he'll probably say it is alright. Most women can walk while they're pregnant.

You're pregnant not ill, so why not? You have more energy when you're pregnant than when you're not and why not make the most of time for yourself?
I was laying carpets, carrying golf caddies, getting a week's shopping and pushing a trolley with that in it and I had 6 weeks left to go. So do what you feel comfortable with and go for it. Good luck.

I do not visualise any problem with a short walk but you must stop during child birth as this could prove harmful to baby.

You don't have to try and gain weight, that will happen naturally. Just make sure you get all your nutrition and calories. Walking is great and you should exercise while pregnant, just wear comfortable shoes.

why not it is good for you..but of course as you progress in your pregnancy it will be more tiring..while your doing it clench your buttocks to improve your pelvic muscle strength (not to hard we don't want the dog to be the only help available delivering the little mite)and i sincerely hope that when you do go out with the dog you carry a mobile phone in your bag, just in case, you need to summon help quickly.
