Well, if you are trying to avoid spending very much money, you won't have much of a shot at making it fast, but you might be able to make it less slow.

The cheapest thing I could think of that would make one of those genuinely fast would be to swap in the VG30DETT engine out of a 300ZX Twin Turbo. I believe it actually bolts right up to the original V6 engine mounts, but exhaust and wiring issues may be a real headache.

Well getting and installing a K&N air filter will heelp
It dont cost a lot and it will increese the hores power

I would recomend a pod air filter.
