No, I am sure Freud would have a lot to say about this but the dark subconscious of humans clearly relishes in blood and gore, watching horror films today is no different from the Romans watching gladiator fights... I find that the more gruesome and over the top a death is the more hilarious, sure, with grittier more realist horror films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Cannibal Holocaust I find it hard to laugh but I think a part of me still enjoys watching even those...

I thought Snakes on a Plane was the funniest movie I've seen all summer, I was laughing the whole way through it. I thought Titanic was pretty hilarious too when all the people were falling off the boat. I know those aren't horror movies, but still I thought they were funny. Oh and Red Eye, I thought that was a pretty funny movie too. Also, I'm still trying to figure out the Evil Dead series...is that supposed to be a comedy?

I laugh at all the new horror. Only because it's nothing compared to the old days when "Rosemary's Baby" could terrify you without ever showing a drop of blood. When "Jaws" kept people from the oceans for months!
All these new horror films are all about gore and blatantly unnecessary sex scenes. It sucks.
You know, I don't laugh at new horror, I weep for it. It sucks that they just cant scare us anymore.

well most horror films are based around some super human corpse (freddy and Jason)
Jason seems to be a skeleton for most of the movies with clothes on but yet he has strength enough to crush a head. pretty amazing considering.

Jeepers Creepers 2 was the funniest "horror" movie ever made. They should all be banned from any film set forever.

Signs - oh man, the part with the alien in the pantry - when you first see them? Laughed so hard - in the theatre, too, and we were the only ones. I felt bad for everybody there who was just trying to watch the movie....

you have to laugh at them, they're so ridiculous, people in horror movies are so dumb. another funny thing about horror movies is the old 'knock on the window' trick. which entails knocking on a window saying 'what was that?' and watch as other people soil themselves, hahaha the gullible human race, when will they learn?

I do, if they are like Scary Movies. Also like Wax House with a crowbar in Paris Hilton's head.
