Hmm, I have a XFX 7950gx2 sitting here.. My current motherboard dont support this card.. So I want to buy new motherboard to fit this card.

I want a motherboard that is compatible with 7950gx2 and core 2 duo processors for future upgrades..

I went to this site already
http://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce_gx2_sbios/us.asp
but I want a broader choice..

Find out if the motherboard is compatible with either AGP, PCI or PCI express. When you find out which one your computer uses for video, find the card that is compatible.

If you need more details on finding out, send me an email.

Your board and card should be OK,

If your card supports AGP 8x/4x/2x and your board supports AGP4x/2x/1x they should run fine together.

Do not worry about the FSB specs for the memory and the board which are not affecting your VGA, since the AGP only runs at 66MHz assuming you haven't over clocked anything.

You can use the 4x card in the 8x slot. You can set the speed in the bios, should automatically use 4 x speeds.

Its only older 2x cards that will not work in 8x slot because of the differences in the AGP 2, 0 and AGP 3, 0 specifications and different voltages.

Just remember PCIE/PCI Express won’t be backwards compatible like this.

For further details please specify the motherboard model # which you have or planning to get...

One pitfall for AGP cards is that the slots cut in the edge connector (which were intended to stop the wrong cards being inserted) were not fully implemented correctly.
Newer AGP cards are 1.5 Volt and will still physically fit in some older Motherboard AGP slots.
Check your Motherboard manufacturer's website and obtain full details of graphic card compatibility.

go to newegg.com and start there.

The only requirement for the video card is where you plug it in. There's typically your AGPx4orx8 and your PCI Expressx16.
The processor is similar there are different kinds of sockets; 754, 939, AM2 and more. You also have to make sure you mother board will support the processor power. For example... an AMD Athlon 64 4800+ socket AM2 supported mother board will support an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ socket AM2. But not the other way around.

Aside from checking the ports (AGP or PCI-E) and port speed (1X, 2X, etc) it would save you a lot of trouble if you check the manufacturer's website (mobo & video card).
