Day and night.
When it is day where I am, the place receives light because it is facing the sun, which obviously means more light comes to it.
On the other hand, when it is night, the place is away from the sun which means not so much light is coming to it.
Day and night happens in a 24 hour cycle where everything is repeated again.

A very good question. Many people years ago had a very hard time believing in this-! You don't feel the ground moving! How could we be on a planet which is rotating-?? But - for example - there is at the Museum of Science in Boston - something that they call a Focault Pendulum. This massive pendulum swings back and forth all day. But -- it always swings in the same plane.the Earth rotates "underneath it"!!! It tips over small pegs about every half hour. The direction of the pendulum's swing changes during the day, thus proving the the Earth rotates-!! This would work very well at the Poles-!! It would not move at all if it were at the Equator-!!

Day and night isn't really evidence that the earth is rotating, you would still have day and night if the earth stood still and the sun revolved around it.
The best evidence I can think of off hand is a Foucault pendulum. You may have seen them in large science museums. Basically, the idea is that if the earth was not rotating, the pendulum would appear to swing in a straight line all day long, but this is not what is observed. If you wait long enough, the pendulum will appear to swing back and forth in a big circle. This suggests that as the pendulum swings back and forth, the earth is rotating underneath it.

The rotation of the Earth causes night and day. Without it one side of the world would have everlasting daylight and the other night. As the Earth rotates one side is moving towards the sun for a day to begin while the other is moving away from the sun causing night to come. Seasons are also affected by the rotation though i am not sure exactly how.

The Foucault Pendulum is evidence of the Earth's Rotation.
Built by Jean Foucault in 1851. He suspended a 67-meter long pendulum with a 25-kg weight from the dome of the Pantheon in Paris. A ball joint let the pendulum swing freely in all directions.
* Started the pendulum swinging North-South.
* A few hours later, it was swinging NorthEast-SouthWest.
* Later still it was swinging East-West.
* and so forth...
The steady clockwise shift of the pendulum's swing is being caused by the rotation of the Earth.
If the earth were not rotating, the pendulum would never change the direction of its swing at any latitude above the Equator.

Besides the sun and the moon rising and falling each day, the sun rises a bit further north along the horizon during summer months. During winter months, it rises and falls further south. Would say to me that either the whole universe is wobbling back and forth every year, or the earth is tilted somewhat, and could even show that it rotates around the sun as well, while on its axis.

Does the sun rise and set everyday? The sun is standing still and our whole solar system rotates around it. Also if we weren't spinning, why would the position of the moon change in the night sky?

day and night!! the sunrise and sunset!!! the sun doest just come up from nowhere....the earth rotates...when one half of the earth experience the morning light, the other half's night. it's a continuous cycle.

Go on a trip a few hundred miles east or west, and notice what happens to the times of sunset and sunrise.
