I am a fan, however I never met him and yet I feel like I know him and his family from watching their shows. I can't imagine how his family is dealing with this considering I didn't even know him and it has saddened me so much that I cry just thinking about him and his family.

I'm having a hard time coping too. Maybe it's because we watched him tempt fate with some really dangerous reptiles, snakes, and spiders only to lose him to some benign stingray. I think the irony of it all still has us stunned. I feel so bad for his wife and kids. We watched them together for so long they are like members of our extended families. It just seems so unreal I keep waiting for the news report to tell us they had the wrong man and it wasn't Steve after all, just some bloke who looked like him.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

It was a shock.
I guess if it was a croc it would be more believable but a stingray??
I really feel sorry for Terri, the kids and his Dad,
Hopefully the media and the public will respect their privacy and let them grieve in peace.

i loved watching him because he was up close and personal with the animals. when i saw the new it was a shock. you never think someone young would die so suddenly. it really makes you remember how fast someone can be taken away. i feel really bad for his family especially his kids because they were so young and didnt get to have all the memories kids should have with their parents. he'll definitly be missed here

it is so so so so sad that he died. It is so sad for his wife especially his children. I know what its like to have to raise a child after a father has died. It is very hard for the child. Poor baby bob keeps asking when is daddy coming home. That would make terri cry

He died he was not a saint before it happened and he still won't be after he died.

I never watched one of his shows because i found him to be nothing more than a side show attraction. To those that like him and his show I am sure they will miss him but find someone or something else in the next couple of months
