Gremlins 3: (Prequel)?

Anyone heard any new news on this? Its supposed to be set some years before the original and set in China. Only found 1 web site that confirms it even is in the works all though i have heard rumors of it for at least a year.

I heard a new Gremlins movie is in the making & due out summer next year ! If it's a prequel, that would be awesome to see the origin of the "Mogwye"(I have no clue how to spell that)
