Indian democracy is based upon votebanks which inturn is based upon religion and caste. It is impossible to get rid of this religion and caste from the polity by any PM,howsoever efficient and sincere he might be.So,even if you or i become a PM,we will be forced to remain only as silent spectators.

Above all,the Indian oligarchy and political parties are too happy to flareup the communal hatred and violence. If India becomes united, then they will demand accountability, drinking water, electricity, roads, jobs etc which is a big threat for their dominance. In short, it is impossible to run the nation any more with democracy. INDIA NEEDS A SELFLESS DICTATOR.

Germany had a "selfless dictator". Look how great that turned out... the nation was humiliated and stipped of major resources and colonies. Would you want a future like that for India? And what's the guarantee that a dictator would really be selfless and efficient.

The good thing about India is that we are allowed to question. The reason you can speak so boldly is because of the security that India offers you in terms of expression, faith, belief and thought. Under a dictator, we would lose all rights of doing so. Moreover, we cant even question him/her or his/her intentions.

India is the largest democracy in the world and has only been independent for some 60 years now. For a country so large with so many backward classes and minorities who are still affected by the impact of the British Raj, I would have to honestly say that India is doing really well in curbing terrorism and communalism, eradicating poverty and various diseases, improving the economy and infrastructure and providing education and awareness.

Most importantly, you must remember that WE are given the power to choose our representatives and all we can do is abuse that power. Indirectly, its our fault if we are governed by illiterate imbeciles who care about nothing but filling their pockets. If the public learns to utilize their powers and rights in the correct way, India would be a step ahead of all democratic nations around the world.

There is nothing like a "selfless, accountable and efficient dictator". By default a dictator is a tyrant who does not honour socially acceptable value systems and the institutions which uphold good public governance. Democracy is the best form of government in spite of its numerous short comings and limitations. There are many checks and balances built into the system and many grievance redressal machineries. The reality is that these need to be utilized property to get justice but the people usually air their grievances in forums which are not the right place or which can provide any relief or remedy the situations.

let's see. If Indian adopts dictatorship, I think India will then end up as Iraq. Then after a few years, some other country like America would come at "our rescue" Now we don't want that to happen, do we? I guess not. So be happy with what you have. I don't think our country is a democratic country. We should change that first . If you are patient, this generation will change everything. Everything will be fine in the upcoming future. India will become a global power.

There is no such thing as a selfless dictator. Can you name a single one? Mao? Stalin? Hitler? Mussolini? Chouchesku? Castro? All madmen, every one of them. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely - fact. Look in the mirror. If you feel so strongly, run yourself!

YOUR ANGUISH MAY BE RIGHT. BUT THE ILLS OF AUTOCRACY, ARE MUCH MORE. THEN, YOU HAVE TO TOLERATE ONE PERSONS FANCY'S. YOU NEED TO FIND SOLUTION, WITHIN DEMOCRACY. AT LEAST YOUR PROBLEMS ARE DEBATED AND FOUND A SOLUTION. RESULTS MAY BE SLOW, BUT, THEY ARE TESTED & UNIVERSAL. THEY ARE ACCEPTABLE TO MAJORITY. WHAT IS THE SURETY, IF YOU & I BECOME A DICTATOR, WE WILL COME-UP WITH, CORRECT DECISIONS ONLY, WHICH IS ACCEPTABLE TO ALL.
