Try out some good sunscreen lotions to begin with. Maybe ones from Lotus. Carry and hold an umbrella, nothing to feel bad about. Buy some oranges, peel or their skin(orange colour), dry it well, powder it, mix it with milk and apply on skin. See if you have any reaction to it first anf then apply. Otherwise you can always go for sandalwood paste(fresh) and Besan mixed with milk. It is good for your skin. If your sunburn is acute, consult a dermatologist first, reduce the symptoms and then go for this treatment. Always see if you have any alergy or reaction, before you apply on a large scale.

The actual culprit is melanin, the skin pigment that darkens with sun exposure to provide either a tan or freckles. People with red hair have a chemically different type of melanin than people with dark hair. Redheads' melanin is more vulnerable to a type of DNA-damaging stress from the sun's ultraviolet rays

I'm not sure how to help with the pigmentation, but as for sunburns, try aloe vera, however, if you happen to be allergic to aloe vera, like part of my family, try mint. It helps, trust me.

aloe vera for the sunburns... I'm pigmented on the face... (I don't worry about it anymore) but if it bugs you... a cover up of sometime perhaps?
