It was a natural progression from Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained. Milton had a lot going on in his life, and he had to do a lot of writing in a very short time. Read some biographical information about him, it's very interesting if you are into English Literature.

Milton relates his own life in this paradise lost and paradise regained. He hates his wife and he was not having a peaceful mind at the time of paradise lost.
