I have PCOS also. The procedure that you are talking about is called a HSG. It is quite painfull but you can ask your Doctor to give you something for pain before the procedure. If your tubes are blocked this will probably unblock them.Since you have PCOS you should see if your Doctor can prescribe Glucaphage for you. Yes, it is a diabetic med but it can help you get pregnant and help with your PCOS.

I was told that the test procedure itself sometimes unblocks the tubes because of the pressure. Mine were open, so I don't know what would have come next, but your doctor should be able to advise you about your options. Good luck!!

I had the HSG (dye x-ray). It was somewhat uncomfortable but I wouldn't call it painful. It causes cramps just like your menstral cramps.
My tubes were not blocked; however, I was told by WV Fertility Dr. that IVF was the best option.
Good Luck

Good luck girl. I don't ovulate every month, have endometriosis and a retroverted "tipped" uterus. It's really sad. If you need to, go to a fertility specialist. You'll be able to get pregnant, don't worry. They will be able to unblock your tubes. Keep your head up girl. :) :0

The can be opened with surgery. If your GYN doesn't do that surgery go to another that does. Don't hesitate to go to a fertility specialist in your area. Many GYNs are too "proud" to admit fertility is "over their head". I have PCOS and got on the right track to having my daughter by a fertility specialist. Little things like the clomid my GYN gave me can cause late ovulation. My GYN didn't know that. Good luck.
