I wear a bra size 40 G, big boobs do run in families, and my mom used to tell me the same thing about wearing a bra to bed but I don't think it's true! I like to wear a sports bra to bed.
Also, mom used to tell me that my boobs bouncing around when I ran would cause cancer or break down breast tissue, I think it's all "old wives tales".

I think bustiness can run in families, but it also varies. A big bust often has to do with an individual woman's fat distribution, as that's a lot of what is in big breasts.

Wearing a bra to bed is not associated with risks, according to several of my doctors, as the people who did the study showing the link are not considered reliable, and there is no long term data to support the conclusions. The key is to not wear an underwire bra, but rather one that has soft cups, and one that does not place a lot of pressure on the breasts. I know from being busty myself that it is often a lot more comfortable to wear one than not, so I usually do wear one. However, I also exercise regularly, which my doctor tells me is important, as you can develop other breast problems if the lymphatic system is unable to drain properly. Constant pressure on the breasts may retard that, but exercise helps the lymph fluid move, so if you exercise, you should offset any negatives. Also, try to spend at least some time without one on, even if it is during the day, and wear super light bras to sleep in--make it about comfort and not about how it looks.

And face it, if you are busty, you are going to sag. There is nothing you can do about it, unless you can figure out a way to make gravity stop working. If you want to wear a bra to bed, do it because it is more comfortable for you to do so, not because you hope it will keep you from getting saggy. Saggy happens to everyone, it's just more noticeable in bigger breasts :)

It seems to me from knowing mom's and daughters that boob size is genetic. I'm certain that you cannot get cancer from wearing a bra to bed anymore than you can get cancer from wearing a bra during the day.

It is definitely genetic and that bra causing breast cancer thing is a huge myth. There are no actual risks to wearing a bra to bed.

it's not genetic.. i got the boobs in my family, sister is like an ironing board.. flat flat flat... same with all my cousins, it varies

wearing a bra to bed is not going to cause any traumatic effects, with big boobs their most likely going to keep them from losing the battle with gravity in later years as wearing a bra will help the skin and membranes in the breast tissue to maintain it's elasciticity. Just do whatever feels comfortable to you.. I personally hate wearing one and only do so when I need to go out in public.

Too big boobs for small structure women look disproportionate. Big boobs are attraction to men. Anyway I like big boobs and likes to foreplay before intercourse. To some extent is genetic I dont thnk it causes cancer wearing bra. With bra on is very uncomfortable for men (like me) to fondle or even suck at times.

Well, to explain the genetics, some may argue that it may be certain alleles, but it may not. However, it's uncommon to have one family of the mother and the daughter(s) to have different breast sizes.

About the bra question, there is some known factor that it does increase breast cancer to wear them at night, but look at this article then. http://www.all-natural.com/bras.html

Just because your mom has big boobs doesn't mean you will.
It all depends. Yes, you have a higher chance, but it truly depends on you.
And, do not wear a bra to bed, your boobs need time to be free
