emo_harmony and I have been engaged in debate that eventually lead us to this topic for the past hour. Where do you think strength comes from?

the courage to walk through fear.
it exists within each of us but sometimes it takes someone else to recognize it for us. When an individual is in crisis they loose their cognitive abilities and they are filled with emotional responses to the stressors therefore they need a support person to remind them of their own strengths then they seem able to face the challenge.

Strength is always spirit. It is perceived in four directions but is the omnipresent "air" of the universe. From our position strength is:
(1) Drawn from above.
(2) Drawn up from the natural world.
(3) Drawn from within.
(4) Drawn up from below.

You should be only concerned with 1 and 3. In dealing with 2 and 4 you are dealing with forces and/or demons which are mainly beneath your feet.* It should be noted: there is no essential difference between power and strength.

I have not seen your debate. Sounds interesting.

*Strength drawn in from the physical world is that which sustains the body which in turn houses a spirit. Consider that every human being is really hanging upside down on the planet.

Our awake contact with earth is the soles of our feet only. If you view the world as around you, you miss your position and a view of how strength is taken in. You wind up with middle earth, crystals, power positions, pyramids, magnetic flux, etc.

True bottom line: Drawn from above.

In life, we make good & bad choices. We have bad & good things happen to us. We love & hate. We fall in love & we get our hearts broken. We live & we die. And what we learn from everything that we go through & the way we choose what to do with what happens to us & in turn apply our 'self learned' knowledge to our lives is where strength comes from in my opinion. Every new experience that we learn something valuable & keep with us, makes us stronger. So I think strength comes from within.

if you don't have a basic inner strength, support from outside will be of little help-however, outside support strengthens innder convictions and strengths...but you have to have it inside first, just as those supporters around you must. therefore the answer is from within.

Strength comes from within. It comes by unfailingly doing what is right over what is convenient or pleasant.

Some people are born with strength and they inspire the ones who are lacking it.
