By your information you should clean your computer 4 times a month or once a week becuase your computer connect with the internet so it is easy to catch Vurises and from so's removeable drives*(Flash uusb, Disk,CD, Diskkette..) too. Especially you have to clean your customer's removeable drive before they open it. And you can scan your computer when you know your computer is effected by Virus.
The programmes that are reliable:
1. McAfee VirusScan v8.0i Enterprise
2.Adware from www.lavasoft.com
3.kaspersky Anti virus 6.0
4.Symantec Anti Virus
All of them you can get by searing in Dowload.com.
And it also have file update to date. You can update your program by click on up to date or Update now etc. it you connect with internet. If you don't you can go to it's wbsite.
The other good Advice|:
check your cpu fan at the back of the pc see if it is going at a fast speed put the bak of your hand to the fan to check if it is verry hot air coming out if you see the fan is running slow or blowing out verry hot air you need to power off the pc and have a new one put in
if the fan is ok then dc your internet cut the feed off then restart your pc and do a full system virus/spyware/ trojan check up
to do a full systen free scan to see what is on that pc if any virus /spyware/trojan you can use a diff pc and download this software to it burn it on to cd then install it on to yours
dont have the internet on then scan your pc with all of this for free if it finds any spyware/virus/trojans you have the options to remove but some of this software when you try to remove the bad junk the software will ask for you to registry and buy
befor it can remove the trojans/spyware/virus
but you can do a free scan this is the verry best software to check your pc over its upto you want you want to do

No not once a day many times not even once a week. Magazines, newspapers, and companies today like to exaggerate the threat. Half of the time the programs they offer cause more harm than good.
I used to have a job that dealt specifically with spyware and viruses. Nearly all of the people I worked for got spyware from simply using internet explorer and not having the two service pack updates for microsoft. Although they did have all the fancy norton and macfee virus scans that costs $100 each.
I don't keep any virus protection programs running or the "must have" firewall and spam blockers. These things eat up resources and slow down your computer. Not to mention conflict with many other important programs. If I suspect I have a virus I run an online scan at http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan
If you have firefox, and the microsoft updates you will be fine. Just don't visit porn sites that spawn 100 windows. It makes me sick when I see ads for aol spam blocker or stop sign anti-popups. When stop-sign tells you to go to their site for a free online scan, they actually put files on your computer that will show up as infected on their scan.

You can get AVG Free (antivirus) and AD-Aware SE Personal (spyware Bot) at the link below, both are a free download. Set the AVG to do a daily scan like in the middle of the night and run the ad-aware once a week

hi, perhaps you can try norton to remove the virus and protect your PC, but you need to pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
