Quadrotriticalene is a grain that was formulated in Canada, according to Star Trek, Episode 42, "The Trouble With Tribbles", written by David Gerrold. I could go into great detail as that is one of my favourite episodes of the series, but I'll refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trouble_with_Tribbles for the synopsis. However, I will add that the scene where Lt. Cmdr. Scott was explain why he started the fight aboard Space Station K-7 to Captain Kirk is a classic scene.

It's very interesting that this question came up as I saw part of that episode on TV Land just a few hours ago as part of the 40th Anniversary of the airing of the first episode. Just one thing odd about the episode was that I didn't see any of the Deep Space Nine crew in the whole episode! :-) (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trials_and_Tribble-ations_%28DS9_episode%29 for info on that.)

Qudratritacalia is a type of wheat grain. In the Star Trek episode of "The Trouble with Tribbles" the Enterprise was transporting the grain but while in transport the tribbles got into the grain storage and ate it all. After the tribbles ate the grain the crew noticed that most of them were dead. This told them that the grain was poisoned. The tribbles who were basically living fuzz balls that can be easily held in a human hand were happy and cooing except when they were around klingons, then they started squealing. At the time there were two notable klingons aboard the starship. One was obviously klingon and the other was disguised and was a spy. The tribbles gave away the fact that the spy was a klingon and of course he was the one who poisoned the grain.

quadro-trita-kaylee is some type of wheat supply for shermans planet, that a tribble got into and ate the whole supply. one tribble became two hundred tribbles. classic episode is "the trouble with tribbles". and it's star trek (original series). kirk opens the storage area and all that comes out is tribbles!! no more quadro-trita-kaylee.

<>The reference was originally from the Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles" which aired 12-29-67 (Season 2). Quadrotriticale is a high-yield, perennial, four-lobed grain, genetically engineered hybrid of wheat and rye (yes, it is real!) The wheat is also mentioned in the later series ST:Deep Space 9.

Easy, it's a hybrid grain that seems to thrive on sherman's planet. Trouble with tribbles on the original star trek.
