Tch, sorry would be enough. but if u want to do better, next time u and her hang out wid others try pulling her into the conversation together.Being shy is not a prob but is when too extreme. You shud noe how to get her to be involved in the conversation since u're a pro in talking.

You ever think that maybe she feels guilty for not joining you in conversation with others?
She hangs around you because she is learning how to deal with people.
Be patient.
You do not owe each other an apology.
Just continue to be friends, and I am sure you will compliment each other well.

tell her how you feel and prove to her that you know it was wrong. for example, on your next outting with friends, show her that you won't ignore her while talking to other people. a true friend would show she cared and acknowledges if her friend was down about something.

You are the noisy one in public.
But I bet she's the noisiest one when she's alone with a guy.
