Doesn't the bible say "for he so loved his children" Arn't we all gods children? We were supposedly made by god.

Compassion and logic take a backseat to over-rationalized hate, scriptures be damned. Most of these folks feel like they're not doing their job if they're not openly condemning someone.

These are my beliefs, so don't hate me pleez...Okay. About the whole gay thing. God doesn't care. He loves us all, and there is no way God could Ever EVER care if a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman. Why? Because it's love. Love is the important thing, not sex. Let me reiterate this for both the really materialistic side of the gay community and the fundamental side of the Christian community. Love matters. It doesn't matter who loves who. Just because someone thought they could slip their own views into the Bible when the scribes were writing the Bible so so SO long ago, doesn't mean we have to take that seriously. Many things have been cut out of the Bible since then. For instance, it used to be that if a girl were sexually abused, she had to marry the man that did this to her. Not anymore. Things change. Also, about the Bible itself. There were 50 original copies. Not a single one is the same. This is because it's a book of ideas. As humans, we should take the BEST of these and preserve them, while removing things that don't apply to the modern world. So, in my views, God doesn't care if you are gay. God cares if you love another person.

Just for the record I have never thumped my Bible! Sometimes ppl feel bashed or judged when others are just trying to tell them about God and His will.I know that some of us Christians don't always say things perfectly but that is because we are human and humans make mistakes! We are still learning and growing in Christ every day, trying to be more Christ like.Next time a Christian talks to you about your lifestyle try to understand that they care about you and want you to have the best chance for a peaceful and loving life like God expects us to have. They don't want you to be left behind during the Tribulation or with your possible personal death before then. And yes, we are all God's children and we should love everyone unconditionally. We can love everyone but we don't have to love their choices and actions. That is when we pray for them and try to talk to them about how to live in God's will for the chance of a perfect eternity. Best wishes with your choices and final decisions.

You look as though you should be old enough to know better. A Bible thumper is a Bible thumper, what else would a Bible thumper do but thump Bibles? Now, come on, give us a break and ask something interesting

LOL I just think if you ask for help dont deteriorate the situation by calling us "bible thumpers" I have nothing against lesbians and gays, but my religion does. Thats the only negative about my religion. And people out there with the power (our president) can easily put you back where he wants. Not all people hate lesbians/gays w/e its just that people translate the bible different ways. I just hate it when two guys freely show there "love" in public. ugh i got sick when i saw two guys making out @_@

I am a bi-femme who is a Christian. I go to church every Sunday, and Wednesday night. (children's church.) I understand what you mean... but I believe that God made us all in "their own image"!
Genesis 1;26
Then God said, "Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves."
Growing up my mom always told me "It was only okay to hate the people that God didn't make!" (think about it.)
I married a man, become a mom, and I've always struggled with my sexuality vs. my faith in God. I have come to realize that God loves all of his children! If we are made in his own image, than how could our different races, looks, accents, body shapes, and yes... sexual orientations... How could all those things be bad, wrong, or deserving of damnation? I don't condemn others, because ONLY God has the authority to do that! I love diversity! It truly is the spice of life. My sexual orientation is just like my skin color, it was given to me by God. I am his beautiful creation, and I am proud to call myself his own!
ps.
I've never thumped my bible against anything, other than my own head! lol...

Adrienne, I don't know if you have ever realized this or not, but it seems to me that the people who do that surprisingly are not in the religion/spirituality forum very often -- at least as contributors
.
It just seems to me that they have these canned biblical answers to almost everything and that does not fly with the religion/spirituality crowd in there. I think partly why they come into LGBT is that they get a rise out of some folks here, and that is validating to them.

I agree-I totally believe in god but I do not attend church very often. I have two kids with my BF and we live together. We had stayed with his sister for 4mos who told us we could no longer sleep in the same room because its against her morals. She has two kids by two fathers and neither father is around. She faithfully goes to church. Why is it that we are judged if we don't do things the way they want or how they think iy ought to be done??!

Because they are all trying to save the rest of us from HELL! Because they are right in what they believe because god told them so. They are the most intelligent people on earth today sent here by god himself to do his work. Hallelujah Praise the Lord.
