Please explain how to connect to the internet by using the modem, router, access point, and ISP

it is a little more involved than that. First just try the easy stuff first..hook everything up and pray that it will just work on it's own. Then come on and ask for a resolution to a specific problem you are having..if any.

contact your ISP, some require you to have an IP. but very little do these days
