The world should be more ashamed for allowing this sort of thing to go on.
All that is needed for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing and Bush and his horrid men of terror have done nothing but advance thier quest for world domination. Bush hates freedom and he will stop at no lie no life and no exspense to make sure you don't have any -

Americans should not feel shame but many do. Why because of things we have not done and things we have done. What people need to realize is that everyone trys there best with the cards they were delt and plays them accordingly. The problem comes when people start talking about themselfs as if they are better then others. Thats when you get a fight because two people cant both be the best and sense no one is willing to back down war breaks out. Its ignorance that breeds this hate and ignorance comes from one side not helping the other side to become better educated. You want less terrorists then start teaching people how to be free thinkers and not to follow all the time. Cause even here in america people are not taught how to be free thinkers infact its pretty much forbidden go figure...

As an American I hope they tortured the bastards that use suicide bombers, kidnap people and cut their heads off while taking video for the Internet, Fly planes into buildings. I hope the torture was long, slow, and done while they wrapped the idiots in Pigskin. Read the Geneva Convention. They are not accorded any rights by the Geneva Convention
No protection at all. We can shoot them if they are not in uniform. The Weapons of Mass Destruction, ask the Kurds or Iranian troops about them. Oh by the way your leader thought they had them too so shut that line.
Only nation to use Nukes, that's true, but look at the estimated casualties on an invasion of Japan in WWII. If you did more homework and spent less time ranting you would see that the use of the Atomic Bomb in Japan probably "saved" 10 million Japanese lives.
By Japans estimates!

For the atrocities you list, they should be ashamed. We Canadians should also be ashamed of how we treated natives, Chinese railroad workers and Japanese-Canadians interned during the war. However, I think empires do far worse, and I'm afraid the US is acting like one. Too bad, too. The nation that gave us so much great entertainment and culture has a persistent problem with government.
Don't be phased by shut up dummy. He always turns up with the same insults.
lepninja, you are not very smart. First of all, the old chestnut, 'America saved Europe's ***...' gets trotted out regularly. You HELPED, after you were bombed by the Japanese. In 1941. Canada, Australia were both helping the war effort long before you. Anyway, you say Canadians know nothing of courage? Well, tell that to the families who lost loved ones to American friendly fire or otherwise in Afghanistan.

First of all these things have just been "found out". When Americans are showing their patriotism it's about the love they have for their country, their people, the soldiers who give their lives so we can continue living ours - We aren't in control of the information the CIA or FBI has in its posession. When you say "You keep follwing.." Who the FXCK are you referring to? You're just assuming that because we're proud to be American that we're down with torturing people. I am strongly against any torture methods on every living thing. The largest threat to the world is not the American people, but those who are out to kill us because they have such strong hate built up due to their envy.

we are no longer ashamed of being American. it truly is basically that all of us have diverse backgrounds so we are no longer all an analogous race. besides the undeniable fact that if i'm in a overseas united states, and someone question me what i'm i'll assert American. If someone requested My ethnicity then I say black, or perhaps as they prefer to understand if i'm mixed with something, then I damage it down. it is honestly a sturdy question, i wager for someone of yet another united states this can look a touch unusual. properly in any case, maximum each body is( for a lack of a more desirable proper be conscious) 'Mutts' we are no longer truly organic something and we are pleased with it. So even as someone says they look a million/4 irish basically imagine of them as giving their props to eire.

America is fighting for our future livlihood from enemies who want to blow us off the map.
Innocent people are not being tortured. We may be getting vital information from some haters who are participating in the process of killing US.
Slavery was wrong-and has been corrected. Africans were given the option to go back following the end of the civil war but the highest percentage opted to stay and are proud Americans today.
Japan brought us into World War 2 by attacking us first. Though today we never target civilians, back than it brought a quick end to the war and probably saved millions of our, and our allies lives.
If Saddam wouldn't of kicked out the inspectors after we found enough anthrax there to kill the entire world 12 times over we would of known exactly what WmDs Iraq had. They moved them into Syria and Libya weeks before our invasion (caught on satelite).
Human Rights? We don't even properly punish our criminal offenders in this country and they go on to harm other individuals.
Iraq used chemical weapons on their own people-us using them? That's news to me.

As bad as you think the US is, around the world much worse things are going on. Sadaam Housein gassed his own people - he committed genocide on his own people. The rest of the world sat by and did nothing. America decided to change that.
All of Europe knew that there was genocide going on in Bosnia but none of their leaders were willing to step out and stop it until America intervened...then everyone else was happy to help out.
If America didn't bail Europe out during WWII they'd all be speaking German right now.
The moral of the story is America has the courage to act when others don't - but I wouldn't expect a Canadian to know much about courage.

First of all, you have absolutely no sense of world history and ‘the big picture’. Go. Read. There are plenty of books out there. Learn about the mass carnage that has been going on since the beginning of human history. You’ll see the timeline of crimes against humanity committed by your ancestors and mine.
Now let’s exam Canada:
You said, “Slavery- oh the blacks that ran from thier masters to be free came here to Canada -never had slavery here -just employment”
Quote:
"Slavery in Canada was first practiced by some aboriginal nations, who routinely captured slaves from neighbouring tribes as part of their accepted laws of war. However, chattel slavery (where slaves were the private property of their owners and their children were born into slavery as well) started with the European settlements, appearing soon after the colonies were founded in the early 1600s. Most of their slaves were used as domestic house servants, although some performed agricultural labour. Some of the slaves held by Europeans in Canada were of African descent, while others were aboriginal (typically called "panis.")" (Wikipedia)
Let's talk about "war mongering blood thirsty tortureing exscuses for "human beings"...

Interesting Quote:
What price Canadian and other NATO troops will pay in advancing the cause is now a subject of some debate in Afghan security circles. At least one senior government official suggested on the weekend that the recent surge in suicide attacks — at least 22 bombings since last September — could be aimed specifically at countries such as Canada, which may be seen as WEAK links in the efforts to stabilize Afghanistan. "I think the rise of attacks in Afghanistan nowadays is aimed at the WEAK forces, such as Canada and others, and that is because these countries can easily be threatened," Akbar Ansari, a senior prosecutor in Afghanistan's anti-terrorism courts," told the Los Angeles Times.
Why is Canada weak?
“In 1783, the British recognized American independence. **About forty thousand American Loyalists who had supported Britain during the revolution came to Canada as refugees.** Their presence added a significant English-speaking element to Canada’s population and led to the creation of New Brunswick in 1784 and the division of Quebec into Upper and Lower Canada (now Ontario and Quebec) in 1791.”

You said, “Fighting or even thinking about fighting the Geneva Convention (no wonder China doesn't take America seriously on human rights.”
China? Are you kidding me?
Quote: “There was progress towards reform in some areas, but this failed to have a significant impact on serious and widespread human rights violations perpetrated across the country. Tens of thousands of people continued to be detained or imprisoned in violation of their fundamental human rights and were at high risk of torture or ill-treatment. Thousands of people were sentenced to death or executed, many after unfair trials. Public protests increased against forcible evictions and land requisition without adequate compensation. China continued to use the global “war on terrorism” to justify its crackdown on the Uighur community in Xinjiang. Freedom of expression and religion continued to be severely restricted in Tibet and other Tibetan areas of China.”

You said, “George is leading the US into the worst fascist (correct spelling) dictatorship in the world and you keep following”
Correctly define and describe a fascist dictatorship then compare it to a liberal democracy and a parliamentary system, then decide which one most resembles a dictatorship (hint: the unicameral system).
Should Americans be ashamed? Yes, ashamed of sharing a continent with idiots like you.

Why? America hasn't done anything any other country hasn't done before. The only thing America should be ashamed of is trying to take the moral high ground and look indignant when other countries commit the same offenses.
