I am in the middle class aera, and I have noticed that some of the upper middle class people do not care about people that are worse off then they are. IE. they have insurance and good 401k programs etc. Could it be that if you have those things and those who do not do not effect them so they do not care? Out of site, out of mind? Just a thought

Lisa, Thank you, I did not mean all upper middle class, I just meant some of them.

marlene, I agree with you, but I always try to help people what I can. I have no reason to say they did not work hard for it, But I am saying that they sould still care about those around them. After all, the men and women that fight wars for us is in the poverty level, further they work hard too.

gypsy, I agree with you, it is nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same way of thinking.

Yes, I agree with you totally. Unfortunately sometimes the more money, etc that folk have the less they care about the less fortunate. They cannot see further than their own little world. Money doesn't necessarily bring happiness and it certainly doesn't bring compassion. People like that tend to forget that some children are dragged up up in very difficult circumstances, either abused in some way or neglected because their parents are substance addicts and I would imagine if you are brought up in a dis functional family that it is very difficult to understand " normal" life.
Wealth should be measured by serenity not by money in the bank or the size of your car. Let's hope that the meek do inherit this wonderful world, after all it's the wealthy that are destroying it and not the indigenous tribes of Africa etc.

It depends on the chart you look at in some I am upper middle, others I am middle... I don't care about others because I work anywhere from 48 to 60 hours a week... And I work HARD, in life threatening situations on a daily basis... If anyone wants to work as hard as me, then they can act however they want... I dont have a 401k, and I have crappy insurance benefits.

Many people are self centered and it really is too bad. It is human nature for people to take what they have for granted. Others will say well I worked my butt off to get what I have and other's did not. Americans are actually the most caring givers out of all the countries in the world, but a lot of the time you need to ask for help.
