You made strong associations between smoking and different activities so the best way to quit smoking is by altering those associations. Brake the patters. For example when you drink your coffee you also want to smoke; to break that pattern you need to do something else and associate a new feeling to that action, a new feeling that will replace the one given by the cigarette. Talk more to your friends during your coffee drinking, read a magazine, anything to delete the connection coffee-cigarette. That's the same in all instances: do something different when you are expected to smoke.

since you smoke that much everyday, your body got adjusted having these poisons running ur body. That's why people with more serious drug problems can actually die by quiting abruptly. You hav to take decrease your amount of cigarettes maybe every few weeks or whatever you're comfortable with. The reason why you were coughing and stuff (tryign to not smoke) was because your body was so used to having 2-5 cigarettes a day. So each week you should decrease slowly from 2-4cigarettes, then another few weeks, 2-3, then so on.

yes-
1. u stop going to that particular same old shop where u are addicted to buy ur stuff.
2.when the time arises for ur desire to take cig. just do something serious which will make u forget the cig.
3.don't enter into zones where u will be under passive smoking which will again make u feel.
4.just drink a few glasses of water whenever u feel to smoke.
these excersises seem to be simple and not working but if u start following them strictly i bet u will leave the unwanted smoke within a week's time.
all the best. i never give any suggestions simply- ur Q being very serious and u urself have a burning desire to end this fire i am helping u out.
please sincerely follow. after quitting pl let me know on 9848463045

I gave it up three years ago after smoking for 51 years.

(yes, not a spelling mistake - 51 years)
No patches, no hypnosis. I just stopped.

I had tried many times during that 51 years, but failed.
The longest I had given it up was for 2 hours - and that was a struggle.

The answer - and people laugh when I tell them, but it's true - pickled onions.

Everytime you fancy a smoke, put 5 strong pickled onions in your mouth - suck them, then chew them. You don't have to swallow - you can spit them out if you like.

Think it's silly?
Nope - try it. It works.

Just stop-- I know, I know it's hard BUT if you don't put yourself in a situation where there is cigarettes or people smoking it will be easier if you live with someone ask them not to smoke around you. If you have to have something in your hands you can always find something like a pen (not to act like your smoking but to occupy your hands) Support is a big thing.. just ask people to work with you and help you out.

Visit your local hospital and ask to talk to people who are ill from smoking related diseases - lung cancer, emphysema, etc. Talk to them about their daily activities (or lack thereof) and what life is like living with an illness like that.

I had a bi-lateral lung transplant two years ago due to Cystic Fibrosis, which is a genetic disease that currently has no cure. Breathing is something that so many people take for granted. Talk to people with illnesses such as CF or other diseases that aren't a direct result of smoking.

Talk to a home health nurse or volunteer at a hospice that cares for people dying from respiratory illnesses. That should give you the willpower to stop.

Good luck!!
