I cancelled work a few days in a row and said that i would bring in a doctors note. I had a few blank notes and just filled one in and handed it to my supervisor. I thought she trusted me but i guess i was wrong because the first thing she did was call the doctors office and ask if i was present there on the day that i wrote. obviously i got caught but my supervisor didnt directly tell me anything about it. she told another supervisor who came to me and asked me if i had given a fake note. i said no and he believed me but now i dont know if i should fess up or just hold my ground and stick to my story!! i know what the more noble thing to do would be but realistically, i dont know if i should just come out and tell the truth...what do you guys think?

Of course, the best thing to do would have been to not skip work, or to not use a fake doctor's note to get away with it. I have a feeling that you might get fired (or in major trouble) if you actually confess to using a fake doctor's note.

That said, I also doubt that it is acceptable for an employer to call your doctor's office to confirm your visit. I believe that might even be an invasion of privacy laws for the doctor or secretary to release that information over the phone (and the reason why they only give a letter upon request for you to take in). So, if you hold your ground you may just get away with it.

They will find out the truth eventually, so just 'fess up. You might still be able to keep your job if you are humble, accept disciplinary action, and promise never to do it again.
Obviously, your boss didn't trust you, because I have never had a boss check up on a doctor's note (for me or any other employee).
You might want to consider finding another job, where employees are trusted.

ummm why would your supervisor called to verify (which is illegal i think) and then had another supervisor involved. either way, they are going to watch you like a hawk. i would just confess and hope they don't fire you. most employers terminate employees for that; good luck
