I have noticed that alot of men who are over 35, for example, are considered sexy, hott, etc.
but when a women is over 35, people don't really talk about her being pretty. they just say "she looks good for her age".
why can an "older" man be seen as sexy but an "older" woman is usually just seen as "looking good for her age", or etc...
why are men treated differently when it comes to their age and physical appearance?

I know some of you are saying "that's not true, there are women 35+ who i think are good looking". but come on, you know i'm right. Even when I ask my relatives questions like "is she pretty" about older women, they'll say "well she looks good for her age", and i'll say "but is she pretty??".
etc.
It's true. I know that i AM generalizing, but my generalization is factual.
i have been in TOO many situations where i have heard people say "well, she looks good for her age" about a beautiful, "older" woman.

I have seen men in that age group who had beer guts hanging over their belts, very unkept beards and hair, too much weight, not what I would call goodlooking/hot/or handsome. Smile.

Men and women ARE different. Nice observation. Don't forget that people are all different too. Some men find older women more attractive. Some women find younger men attractive. Some people disreegard age and consider things like love, money, convenience, desire, sex, personality.... You get the idea. My Grandparents only have a weeks difference in their age. My aunt used to like younger men but matured a bit and married someone the same age as my grandparents. My mother likes younger men. My husband is a year and 6 months older than me. My son has a "girlfriend" who is a year older than him. My sister in law married a man who shares her exact birthday. Try not to stereotype and discriminate. Open your mind to all possibilities to achieve enlightenment.

I know what you are saying. I have wondered about this also.
i have noticed that soo many older men are considered the sexiest men alive like Brad Pitt, for example and SOOO many other men.
to me it seems like after 30-something, a women is no longer considered sexy/beautiful. I don't know why... it feels natural to me to say "well she looks good for her age". i'm used to it....
for example, my friends asked me if i think elizabeth hurley is pretty a few days ago and instinctly i said "well...yeah... she looks good for her age, i guess".
another time, my friend asked me "do you think j.lo is pretty?" and i said "um well she still looks very good. i can't believe she's 37".
so you know, it's not only men who think that. I just think for some reason people got that idea in their heads. it's from society. it kind of scares me and makes me want to stay 18 forever.......
people can deny it all they want but its true. a woman would never be called "the sexiest woman alive" at 42 1/2 as brad pitt is called.
ah!

Depends on the men and women in question. You're generalizing. I believe a lot of women over 35 are beautiful...

A male past puberty can make children until the day he dies.
While a women who is at or near menopause is considered less attractive for the begetting of children this is the bases for the difference.
If you are just looking for companionship or a help mate or both of you don't want children then the age factor doesn't matter.

I think it's more to do with science. To keep the human race alive we need to procreate.Men can make babies right up 'till the end, where as women naturally lose that ability from menopause( around 40- 50 generally). Therefor, older women aren't seen as attractive 'cause they're no longer fertile. Evolution and all that.

It depends on who's talking... other people of the same age will say that a 35+ lady is hot or good looking, while the younger crowd will say the "for her age" line.

I hate to argue, but.....
35+ woman are among the BEST looking!
Usually, what you see is what you get.
THeir bodies have filled out & they have set-in ways.
Most don't feel the need to play the childish games & know what they want.
