Consider it this way. poor need not pay taxes as they have no money. rich do not pay full tax as know how to do it and also how to recover tax money from the business. so who is taxed . Only the middle class. all the finance ministers know this and you will rarely find a finance minister who is not from amongst the rich.
The underlying theory is simple .Increase the taxes so that More and more people become poor and fewer people get rich and rule them. It is called true Democracy

I am middle class and thanks to Bush get more and more money and tax refunds every year. I love it. I was getting depressed during the eight years of Clinton while I made less and less money every year and thought I was going to become one of the poor. then we got a turn around and now life is great. I am approaching upper middle class. I am so glad that the mean, hateful, spiteful, evil liberals keep showing their true selves so people keep voting republican and helping me make more money. Thank you liberals and those of you smart enough to vote republican.

In Michigan, we all feel squeezed. I don't like knowing my job options are not good, and some are losing their jobs here.

My money does not seem to go as far as I would like it to. My son is 12yrs, and my husband and I are trying to look ahead to getting him through college, plus stay on top of bills. We are spending a lot less than we did 8 years ago on big ticket items.

Just have to ride it out and hope a Democrat gets in Washington to help relieve me of some of my worries.

If you are middle class you're income is higher than 80% of everybody elses. I wouldn't be complaining.

I'm considered "working poor", but I can't complain.

I have plenty of food, a nice apartment, a car, a TV and computer, with cable and cable Internet.
