Charles Caldwell, President of "Voice of The Moderates" stated at their first Press Conference that,

"Far Left Wing Liberal ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrats whose shining examples of leadership are "Yeeee haaw Howard Dean", their President of the DNC and the ever-red nosed 100 Proof Ted Kennedy of "Chappaquiddick" fame... not to mention, Hillary Clinton and her shallow bid for the White House with NO solutions, NO strategies i.e., for the National Security, Illegal Aliens, open hemorraging borders, she offers nothing, she just reads from scripts... these are the Dems."

Wienhauser and Jones Polls show:

Disenchanted Moderates overwhelmingly believe the Democratic Party is no longer viable, it's been hijacked by Gays, Lesbians and ACLU Radicals of every stripe and represents them exclusively!

The majority of Moderates queried stated: "It's either Vote GOP or for a Third Party/Independent BUT the Democrats are no longer a viable positive politcal entity".

What say you?

First of all, Caldwell doesn't know what he is talking about because Hillary Clinton is far from a liberal.

Secondly, it is not that the democratic party is being hijacked by liberal issues; but rather, the republican party has been very successful at painting those issues with a broad brush covering the entire democratic party.

For proof of this, all you have to do is examine answers on here when ppl say the democratic party is the party of gays, etc...

Liberals have always existed....

The republicans have always been good at this kind of strategy. Think about it... they very successfully painted a black welfare face on the democratic party in the 80s. When in reality more whites are on welfare and the statistics are about half and half as far as party affiliation.

The current national Democratic leaders don't represent most of the Democrats that I know.

Those sources you listed don't sound very moderate... unless they have just as much criticism for the GOP.

I'd say that most people are happy to let gays live their lives and are tired of being beaten over the head with the issue. I'd say that the average person's beliefs about abortion range from "morally wrong" to "bad idea, but necissary in some cases". To me, Dems seem to promote abortion any time a mother just doesn't feel like having a baby.

When a large part of the population has a strong moral problem with your stance on an issue, it costs you.

Too many moderates are seeing the impacts of the left wing on the democratic party. The democratic party has shown that it will do what ever it takes regardless of the mess it will make to the country just to get even with Bush for beating their man (or is it mad-man) Gore.

Moderate Americans also have JOBS and don't like wasting their money on good for nothing loafers that sit around and just receive welfare checks.

Too bad there are no viable third parties. If only the Libertarian party wasn't hijacked by the legalize marijuana group.

The Democratic party on a national level appears to have been hijacked by the extremists on the left. On local and state levels, Democrats still have a lot of strength in many states, but I wonder how long more moderate Democrats will be be able to keep sucking it up and supporting their party.

Because the vast majority of them are independents I think

Because the vast majority of moderates probably don't want huge government, massive overspending, and no coherent foreign policy.

Yea, they do need to get a platform some day. If they did they'd get elected easily but they would rather power monger amongst themselves and give us, the Neocons, the next presidency, thanks by the way to all you liberals who are handing it to us on a silver platter.

Please Condi, change your mind and run!!

I, sadly, must agree. Instead of solidifying their platform, they flop about like a fish out of water
