It says that it's better for long trips, avoiding dirty public restrooms, long lines that make women miss shows, etc. It also has quotes from women (ages 20's and 30's) saying how dry they feel and quiet and the material is thin, no odor, no one knows, etc.

The author of the article quotes someone from Kimberly Clark (they make Depends) saying that about 5-10% of their customer service calls are from women like this. They have no incontinent problem at all.

Anyone heard of this? Any ladies using them? I'm now actually thinking about trying it.

I've heard of it, but I thought it was a joke the first time. Gross, but funny none the less.

The more I hear/read about people using adult diapers for the convenience without the need, I wonder what is wrong with people today? Why in the world would you want to do that? Just how lazy are they?

1. It's a breeding ground for germs and bacteria (especially yeast).
2. No matter what they say, I have a hard time believing that there is no visible sign that they aren't wearing regular underwear.
3. No odor, no one knows? I guess they have never had a baby. The best diapers in the world still give off a small amount of odor when left on for extended periods of time. Just because the women wearing them don't notice the smell, it doesn't mean others can't smell it. It's like perfume, you get used to the smell so you don't smell your own perfume while others still notice it.
4. Quiet and thin material? Maybe, but it's still not cotton panties. I would think that any lighter weight materials would show the bulk of the diapers. I guess all these women are in denim and cords. Nylon or rayon blends in pants and skirts show off everything, so I can't imagine trying to hide a diaper under them, not to mention spandex, lycra, satin, silk.....

Either I'm stupid, or it really is gross. Yes, public restrooms are gross too. BUT that's why they make the toilet seat covers, or if not available, use good ol' toilet paper to line the seat. Didn't these women have mothers to teach them this stuff?

Why not try it? On heavy days, pads can leak and cause accidents, an adult brief covers a larger area and would be more absorbent for those days.

As far as wearing them to concerts or shows or anywhere there is a large crowd and sparse restrooms, it makes sense.

It always seems unfair that there isn't any line for the men's restroom but the ladies room has a line snaked out into the lobby and around the corner as everyone takes their time going.

You miss half the show or game or whatever and if you are lucky, you don't wet yourself before you get to the ladies room.

Worse yet is traveling. I hate going into the restrooms at most rest stops, especially the smaller ones. It seems that no one ever cleans the stalls.

So many times I've gone in and the seats are dirty with urine spots. . . . or worse. Half the time the commodes are backed up and full of waste and toilet paper, I sure don't want to sit down on any of them.

Even worse is being caught between rest stops on a long deserted stretch of highway and having to go so bad my eyeballs are floating.

Wearing a wet diaper that is designed to pull the urine away from the body so you don't feel it is more palatable than trying to hold it and having my muscles hurt from doing so and having to wait until I find another dirty restroom.

It definitely is something I would do if the need arose. It just makes good common sense to do so. Why should I have to suffer for someone else not doing their job of cleaning the restroom or not providing enough stalls to accomodate the crowd?

The only thing I would suggest though is to buy a well fitting cloth diaper or two for this purpose rather than throwing disposables into our landfills.

Enjoy.

Don't be so fast too judge. There are times that wearing an adult diaper is better than the alternative of leaking from a heavy period or wetting my pants. I have experienced both, and it is less embarrassing to be in a diaper than having people notice the obvious. I am not embarrassed too say that I have also worn rubber pants/plastic pants over my diaper.

Yipes...I've never used them, but I've thought about it (long day on the ambulance, can't find time to use the bathroom). It seems that no matter how "dry" they feel, in essence, you are walking around with a diaper on your bottom, and that has to be both uncomfortable and setting a great breeding ground for UTI's, yeast infections, and general irritation.
All day long, I have to transport eldery and demented patients who can't control their bowels or bladder any longer. They are usually self conscious and embarrased about it. Trust me; it's a blessing to be healthy enough to use the toilet! The day will come (soon enough) when you become elderly and diapers will be medically necessary but until then enjoy the fact that you don't have to sit in your own urine.

I personally know of no one who uses incontinence pants for convenience. Using them shouldn't be a problem as long as they are changed every 2 hours if wet or more frequently depending on the frequency of urination.

Wow!

I've never heard of that, but am a little grossed out. If you have that much of a bladder problem, you need to start doing Kegels, those pelvic floor exercises. They work awesome for making you have to pee less often.

That sounds kind of strange to me. I think people would be able to tell you're wearing a diaper. It's very obvious.

I'd rather just hold it until I could find a bathroom.

I wonder if that tell ther friends about it. What about the smell. What about the sound diapers make. What if thay fill the one thay go on do thay have soem one change them or do thay change them selfs.

I don't think I would do that. Hopefully old age will never make me need to either.
