nono. a "mod" is an addon for a computer game. For example. World of Warcraft. There is a mod you can download that will make it so that when you take off all your armor, the character is actually naked rather than wearing underwear. That's a mod. It's not an actual program, just some files that alter a game a bit.

mods can be very useful in some instances. Such as Warcraft, there are several mods that are very popular that enchance the experience (and I'm not talking about the nudity one) lol

So "mod" means modification or modified. Different from a moderator from a forum or website

Mods=Modifications

This could either mean changes made to the actual computer itself, such as adding more RAM, a new video card, a faster processor, or making cosmetic changes to the computer like painting it or putting lights on it

Also, mods could mean modifications for software. This is common in video games, where players will create mods for games to change various aspects of the game

IF you're talking about college: It's just a short period of time, like a piece of a semester. My college ran on semesters (there were two per year), and most classes were a full semester long. However, classes that were only 2 credits instead of four might only run for 2 mods, or two months of the four that would comprise an entire semester. The length of a "mod" at your school might be different from at mine.

In the 80's "Mods" were considered the people that listened to "modern music". English Beat, Madness, Depeche Mode, Haircut 100 etc..

Modification......... for games - changing something to make something work better or change it entirely. For hardware - change the look of something.... Tweak the fans, make a computer faster than it should (overclocking)...... For Windows, you only have 3 colors to choose from for a theme..... a mod can make it more different, give you more choices, unlock the hidden potential.

Hello nirvanafann666,

Mods is short for modifications. You can download mods for certain games that modify the game or add features.
