depends what state you live in. But yes, there is what's called a uniform child ...or uniform child support standards act ...whatever. It's late and the name escapes me. But most Social Service Agencies can explain that. First, you need to go to the Family Court in the county where you live and file a petition for support (it doesn't cost you anything) They will garnish his income tax refunds and wages because he is a "deadbeat dad" as they call it. . But you need to have a court order to do that. Believe me, they will find your ex-spouse. Because now, what they will do if he doesn't pay, is revoke his driver's license no matter what state he lives in. And I hate to say it, but if you need to, go on welfare, because then THEY will track down the ex (with their attorney) rather have have to pay to support you and your kids. And believe me, their attorneys are persistent.!!! I don't know where you live, but I work in family court.
