I want to know what is bleach made of ? What happens when you mix it with amoninia ? I am aware that it is dangerous to mix the two , but I am still curious about what happens.

To whoever said it sounds like I am trying to kill myself , I said am curious . I would NEVER mix the 2 . I think I have the right to be curious and the only chemicals I mix because I like to see reaction is baking soda and vinegar and I am very carefull . If anbody has a problem with me trying to learn things that's too bad.

bleach is a compound made of chlorine (Cl) and water and has chemical formula HOCl

ammonia has chemical formula NH3

the two can combine to make chloroamine (NH2Cl) which is a powerful respiratory irritant

chloramine gas can be fatal when inhaled in sufficient concentration

bleach is made with chlorine and when mixed with ammonia, chlorine gas ends up forming. but ammonia is the basis of just about every cleaner and fertilizer ever created, so nitrogen and hydrogen would be the answer to that...

I know chlorine is on the periodic table of elements and I believe its symbol is Cl, but I will need to do further research and get back to you on that. Hope that helps.

Edit: Yes, it is I checked it, and chlorine is used in many types of bleach. As for the non-chlorine bleach I will need to do more research for you.

When you combine bleach and ammonia, it produces something called chloramine. While the chemical is present in small amounts in drinking water, combining the two liquids creates a high concentration of chloramine, which can be dangerous

bleach is NaClO
if u mix it with ammonia, it will be oxidized into NaClO3 or NH4ClO3, and they are ingredient of ... explosives!

hmmmm well ammonia is like NH3 or NH4+ or maybe thats ammonium....and bleach i think is a basic solution so something with OH- 's lol i dunno where im getting this from
