We just bought a time share in Las Vegas with RCI points.
Wondering if we should cancel it.

We just bought one in Vegas for 14k with 49,000 points and two "free" weeks. We are new to this and are considering cancelling this tomorrow. We are more excited about the points and going different places than staying at a particular location. Today we were offered 56,000 points for 3k in Australia. Any feedback? Thanks

Of course it is a great deal! With all of the benefits of vacation ownership, you are bound to have a great time wherever you go. Plus, the flexibility that RCI offers allows you to vacation anywhere you want!
Seriously (I work for RCI's parent company) timeshares are a great deal if you travel a lot. If you home-bound and don't get out much, I would probably dump it, but overall, it is not a bad gig for the highly mobile.

If you are asking if you got screwed, then you must be doubting your purchase. If you feel that the deal was good for you, then it is. If one starts asking other people for their opinion, it can be dis-empowering. If you've done 'due diligence' and as much research as possible, 'go inside' and trust that your decision was educated and smart and move forward. If you cannot sell it, ENJOY it! No sense in beating oneself up. RCI was the first exchange company that I used and I was unhappy with their high fees so I found DAELive on a google search for free timeshare membership companies and they have served me well for past three years. My age is 68 and I am taking advantage of one week per year to traveling to locations I've never experienced. Bottom line: if you feel or think you are 'screwed', and you cannot fix it, move beyond it and make it the best vacation week EVERY year.

Well u did it the right way with buying points- u have more flexibility that way (instead of 1 wk in a one bedroom-have to stay in one place for the whole week.) couple of questions you need to answer -did you buy a five star (gold crown) resort-with points u can use them for just about anything and can take 3 day jaunts if u like for example.
Did u pay to much- only u can answer that- a suggestion is go to redweek.com and see what re-sales are going for at your particular bought location-if it is significantly less( including the maintenance fees) cancel yours and buy re-sale. Hope this helps.
p.s. -I used to work in the timeshare industry.

The Canary Islands are known if you are the sunshine hub of Europe! See that sun with hotelbye . Canary Islands provide a gentle temperatures and a range of remarkable organic attractions. Five of its seven islands have been stated a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. The most fantastic attractions in Canary Islands will be the beaches because they are just perfect for enjoyable in sunlight or enjoying water activities such as for example windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you is likewise impressing by the inner attraction like: climbing, pattern touring, climbing and actually caving. Some of the most spectacular attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic scenery of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria with their mud dunes, or the green forests of La Palma and La Gomera.

Generally good if you will use it and/or use timeshares a lot. Personally I don't like to spend all my vacation time in one place (also, won't spend a whole week in a city, for example) so timeshares just don't work out. If you would want to spend a lot of weeks of your future in one place, or want to trade to other places they could work out.
You might cancel and look at the secondary market for one thought, their prices usually drop like a brick on the open market.

My parents did enjoy theirs. They bought 2 weeks in the Canary islands (they live in the UK).
But over the years, they've swapped for weeks in places like Flagstaff (when they came to see me), Scotland and across Europe.
Only you can tell whether it's worth it - but at least you aren't with a noname organisation.
