There is a distinct "Don't ask, don't tell" policy there in the neighborhood. If they were to finally come out and be themselves, they would end up losing everything... no more pigeons, no more rubber duckie, and no more bath tub built for two!

Besides, same sex puppet marriage isn't legal on Sesame Street, yet. However, I hear that the MCLU (Muppet Civil Liberties Union) is willing to take the fight for Muppet-Muppet relations to the Supreme Court, if necessary.

No, I think they are just going to shack up. Ernie has commitment issues because he caught Bert in a menage-a-trois with Oscar the Grouch and The Count.
