I swim in a 25M short course pool and I don't remember how many laps I swim at the end of practice.
Anyway how do I calculate yardage in a meters pool?

our coach writes out our sets on a dry erase board, so its only a matter of adding it all up, usually between 9000 and 12000 yards

Since 1meter = 39.3 inches which is 3.3 inches more that a yard. So automatically you have 25 yards and somehting left over.

Take the "something left over" multiply times 25.

25 * (3.3inches) = 82.5 inches There are 2 yards in 82.5 inches.

Divide the 82.5 inches by the amount of inches in a yard, which is 36 inches

82.5 -inches/36 inches = 2.29yards or almost 2 1/4 yards which is the "something left over" stated in yards.

add 25 yards to the "something left over" in yards 2 1/4 yards

25 yards + 2 1/4 yards = 27 1/4 yards.

1 yard = 36 inches, 1/2 yard = 18 inches, 1/4 yard = 9 inches

25 meters = 27yards 9 inches.

remembering laps I approximate based on the slowest time it takes me to swim 1 lap. I swim no slower, I might swim faster, but i will have general idea of laps done.

Well my coach MAKES us keep track of how much we swim. That way, we can tell him how much we didnt do and he records it for our taper. What you could do is keep a workout. Like, write exactly what you feel like doing that day before you go (and put it into a ziploc bag so it doesnt get wet) and stick to it. Then when you want, you know that you swam a 500 free and a 200 fly. Then you add them up, 700m divided by 25m = 28 laps
Vala.

add 3.3 inches per lap.

25 meters would be equal to 27.3 yards. Or about 65 laps per mile.
