You share genes with people on both sides and for that reason, may look like some of your cousins. I, however, look most like my cousin who was adopted by her father, who was also adopted. Definitely no DNA shared there. So sometimes it can just be a fluke.

You look alike because you share the same dominate genes. Your father's side are just more dominate then your moms.
You get blood from both parents, sometimes one is more dominate and you both have the same type, or you have a combo of both. Dad = B, Mom = A+, You = B+ or A or AB, or AB+ or B or A+, depends on how the genes come out.

first cousins share the same grandparents
they also have another set of grandparents that they don't share
your genes come from your father and your mother who got them from their father and their mother
so, first cousins have half of their ancestry in common
if that half is expressed more strongly than the other half, then they should look very much alike
like maybe a half brother
I'm not sure where the "blood" comes in but the genetic code that determines how you look should be quite similar to the genetic code of someone who had the same grandparents

My cousins on my mom's side look like me except that they're all at least a foot taller. I have no cousins on my dad's side but I have a resemblance to his sister so if she had kids, we'd probably look a lot alike, depending on their father.

Are you new to this whole DNA thing that's been around for at least 2 decades?
You don't get blood from your dad You get DNA from BOTH mom AND dad. It has nothing to do with blood. It has everything to do with DNA. You get 23 chromosomes from each parent. Chromosomes carry genes. The genes that you show (eg. eye colour) are called dominant genes. Many first cousins express the same dominant genes.
They teach this BASIC stuff in Grade 7 biology.

Because you all share a common set of genes (not blood) from your grandparents.
