No way. Terminator movies and "Mr. Data" of Star Trek are fun & cool, but pure fantasy. Machines are mindless, soul-less collections of man-made parts -- albeit often *extremely* sophisticated. But compared to the complexity of a dog's brain, even the most complex thinking machine, with the best 'neural-net' programming ever developed by man, is but a mere collection of mundane, banal and *oblivious* interconnected toasters (for lack of a better word). Free will in a man made device? I don't believe so. Even the famous "Turing test" is no predictor of an ability to "dominate" as your question asks.

Well, yes in the sense that they will completely overtake automated tasks, like building cars. But in terms of who has ultimate control, I think humans will still reign supreme because they will be very careful with robots.
