Some of those 8th graders and above are more mature then others and when they become pregnant they step up to the plate and make the right choices. While some of them dont take the responsibility like they should that dont mean its wrong. They are not telling you what age you are mature enough to have kids at. People mature at different ages and there is no set age when one should have kids. If they can handle the responsibility and support their kids then let them be.
Before you ask I will tell you, I am 19 and married my husband is 36 he haves 2 kids both boys ages 8 and 13. We have custody of them their mother didnt want anything to do with them.

No it is not appropriate. My best friend was pregnant at 13 and had her FIRST child at 14. She was fortunate that her parents would watch her son and she was actually able to finish high school because as so often happens, the 19 year old father disappeared. She actually had a wonderful support system and received a lot of help from her family. Which to me was to be expected since her parents had condoned the relationship knowing their 13 year old daughter was sexually active with this 19 year old man.
Unfortunately, most young girls (14-17) are too immature and young to really realize the responsibility that raising a child entails and they don't have anyone to really help them out. Most of them end up single parents on welfare and unfortunately, they let that stop them from trying to better their lives. By doing so, they have set up the terrible pattern that their own children are more likely then not to follow. The possibility is extremely high that their own children will be 2nd generation single parents on welfare. So goes the cycle.
With the government so happy to assist unwed mothers, where is the incentive to NOT have children at such a young age? Or to give the child up for adoption? I have actually heard 14 year old girls say if they got pregnant they weren't worried about raising it since the government would be there to pick them up. It is a terribly sad commentary on our society as a whole.
I think if the government would stop "rewarding" these young mothers, you would either see more birth control being practiced or more children being put up for adoption by loving families who are unfortunately unable to have children of their own.
Abortion isn't the answer unless the mother's life is in danger (as was mine) or the child will be born either severely mentally challenged or physically deformed to such an extent that it wouldn't be expected to live long past birth.

No I don't. Even if they look like 18 year olds at 13, their emotional maturity isn't there. Kids in Jr. high shouldn't be having sex, they are CHILDREN and the thought of kids having sex just grosses me out. On the other hand what can we do? Nothing. If only they knew what they will know 20 years from now.

My friend got pregnant at 12, it was hard and very complicated. I am not a fan of this at all. Life isn't easy at this age and already having someone to take care of is a disaster. Although I respect the families choice to have the child and my God son is now 18 now and quite a handsome devil I know how difficult it was for the entire family.

No, they need to know they should enjoy childhood while it lasts, because once your grown, your grown for the rest of your life. Your daughter has other things to be thinking about right now.

Please let young girls know that they can have so much more in their lives before even thinking of having children. Be your own person first. Find out who you are and what makes you happy; and you will be a much better parent should you decide to be one.

i don't think is ok but you can't do anything about it you just have to support her because she is not mature enough to have children of her own.im 13 and i think that, that is a very wrong choice but that's my opinion. some girls at that age can't still take care of themselve. so you just have to support her and not ignore her.
