A Sunni woman I talked to on the internet told me the Shia were trespassers from Iran. I got the impression from her that Iran has been sending Shia into Iraq for a couple of generations. If that's correct, it's not just a religious war, but a land grab that will benefit Iran.

I do not think so because the people who are probably helping fund the Iraqi war are the same people Iran has been at war with in Iraq prior to Saddam being removed from power and Afghanistan. No Arab country likes terrorists especially not rulers. If you read any of the Arab news even that which gets to the US papers you will see they remove terrorists asap with none of this well I see a swing set I am not going to blow them up business.

There is not a civil war persay. Ther are no sides with a agenda. Just bloody ethnic division. Nobody is trying to establish a separate government or something. Iran?? Iran just wants a power vacum & suports anybody who suports that goal. That why Al queda has a safe have in IRAN. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.........

Do you really not know the answer to this? Sorry to sound harsh, but it's pretty basic stuff. Iran is Shi'ia. Iraq is majority Shi'ia, but was controlled by Sunnis until the war.

Oh yeah. Sadr City is their jumping off point for securing a new Shiite state in Iraq. If we are really serious about winning in Iraq, we need to wax Sadr today.

Yes---the Iranian govt. want us out of Iraq. They support terrorist organizations that are operating in Iraq--to start trouble for the US and allied troops. THey would absolutely LOVE it if we pull out and announce defeat in Iraq. They wait anxiously for that time.
